I made French Toast

This morning I made French Toast for the first time. In France, French Toast is called “pain perdu” which means “lost bread”. They  call it this because they use stale bread to make it. In England it’s called “eggy bread”.

Here’s how you make it:

You need: Thick bread, eggs, milk, oil (or butter), cinnamon and sugar.

What you do:

  1. Make holes in the bread with a fork.
  2. Mix eggs and milk in a jug.
  3. Soak the bread in the mixture.
  4. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on the bread.
  5. Fry the bread over a low heat until it’s golden brown on both sides.
